World Games 2009 - Kaohsiung - Chinese Taipei - Welcome Message IBSF/WSA
 IBSF - Welcomes you,
It is with great pleasure that the International Billiards & Snooker Federation together with the World Snooker Association, welcomes you all to the World Games in Kaohsiung. Snooker is a sport practiced and played worldwide with increasing popularity, and in recent years particular high growth throughout Asia.
The great talents and skills of the professional players will be a fine example for many young players to follow, that I am sure you will all enjoy to witness. The 16 Snooker players participating, including 7 professional players, will allow you to fully appreciate the complexities of our sport and of the strategic needs to be both competent and successful – such as cleverness, talent, skill and accuracy.
Similar to all other major individual sports, you will observe that the psychological aspect is also very important in our sport of Snooker.
I am sure we will see a great champion crowned in the purest spirit of sport. On behalf of the IBSF and WSA, I offer to you all my very best wishes and warm welcome.
